Raw General Manager Bret Hart fired NXT Rookie Wade Barrett

As Raw’s General Manager, Bret Hart hasn’t exactly been the wishy-washy type. Therefore, when NXT Rookies Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Darren Young, Skip Sheffield, Michael Tarver, David Otunga and NXT winner Wade Barrett flooded the ring to make a few demands in the wake of their brutal rampage last week, Hart didn’t hesitate to make an executive decision. Rather than bend to the will of ringleader Barrett or any of the NXT Rookies, the WWE Hall of Famer instead canned Barrett – and then threatened to have the lot of ‘em arrested if they didn’t leave!

NXT Rookies attempted an attack on WWE Champion John Cena

One week after suffering a despicable attack at the hands of the NXT Rookies, WWE Champion John Cena proved that you can’t keep a good man down. Despite the beating, The Champ came to the ring to address the NXT Rookies. During his speech, Cena became distracted by the NXT Rookies, who jumped a security barrier. Wade Barrett, Heath Slater, Darren Young, Skip Sheffield, Michael Tarver and David Otunga headed for the parking lot, however, after Cena was joined by Jerry Lawler, R-Truth, Randy Orton, Mark Henry, Santino Marella, Evan Bourne, William Regal, Sheamus and Edge.

WWE Champion John Cena & Randy Orton vs. Edge & Sheamus ended in a No Contest

Just six days before the four clash in a Fatal 4-Way WWE Championship Match, WWE Champion John Cena paired with Randy Orton to take on Edge & Sheamus. With the entire Raw roster looking on from the entrance ramp to prevent another ambush from the NXT Rookies, the four Superstars, who will battle for the title on Sunday, tore into one another in a prelude to Fatal 4-Way.

Their match was cut short, however, when it was realized that the NXT Rookies had accosted Raw General Manager Bret Hart and dragged him into the parking lot. Once there, the Rookies, led by NXT winner Wade Barrett, tossed the WWE Hall of Famer into the back of a limo and ordered the driver to smash the auto into walls and other cars. The sadistic Rookies then harassed a defenseless Hart, pressuring him to offer them all WWE contracts. When Hart refused, the Rookies agreed that they would give him until Sunday to think about it. Stay tuned…

New Interview with Sky Sports
Posted On: Jun 12, 2010 | By: Tiffany | Comment

Sky Sports recently had the opportunity to interview our very own Wade Barrett, where Wade discusses his finisher, what Superstars he would like to face, and so much more. Be sure to read the interview below!

skysports.com: Congratulations on winning the first series of WWE NXT. Were you surprised or did you fully expect to win the contest?
WADE BARRETT:
Pretty much from the beginning I was confident that I was the best of the eight rookies on there. I had the most complete package and I felt I was probably the closest of the rookies to being a WWE Superstar. When it comes to the voting from the Pros, I wasn’t sure how they were going to go. There could have been some sort of strategic voting with people wanting to get certain guys out so their rookie could win, so I was never 100 per cent.

A video package highlighting Wade Barrett is aired. Barrett is then interviewed in the back who says the result of NXT with him winning was never in question. Barrett then says that next week something will be accomplished that has never been done in the WWE.

John Cena vs. CM Punk

Cena is about to follow with the five knuckle shuffle but his attention is diverted to Wade Barrett who is walking down to the ring. Cena hits the five knuckle shuffle and is about to hit the Attitude Adjustment but Cena drops Punk as Barrett is walking down to the ring. We then see Michael Tarver standing next to the guard railing as the rookies from NXT Season One all come out and surround the ring.

All eight of them take out the SES and the referee and surround Cena in the ring as he tries to take them out but the numbers game quickly catches up with him. Barrett is out there directing traffic and a few of them head out to the floor to take out Matt Striker and Jerry Lawler. They destroy the announce table and the ring side area and even take out the ring announcer.

The ring is then dismantled as the NXT rampage continues. Cena finally gets up and tries to fight back as he is quickly taken out by Tarver and David Otunga. The rest of the rookies come in and get their licks in on Cena. CM Punk finally recovers but he is quickly taken out by the rookies and they turn their attention once again to Cena. Daniel Bryan screams at Cena and says he is not better than him and lays him out with a kick to the head.

Barrett and Gabriel do their moves to Cena before they all leave the ring. Trainers come out to check on Cena as we are treated to footage of the carnage left behind by the NXT rookies. John Cena is the carried out on a stretcher as we see several shots of fans with concerned looks on their faces. Cena is seen holding a thumb in the air from the stretcher as Raw comes to a close.
