Short Biography: Stuart Alexander "Stu" Bennett is an English professional wrestler, signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (under the SmackDown brand) as Wade Barrett. After honing his skills in Florida Championship Wrestling, Wade Barrett went on to win Season One of WWE NXT in May 2010. Barrett rose to power, notoriety, and dominance as the founding leader of the Nexus for the latter half of 2010 and from early to mid-2011 formed (and later disbanded) another alliance, the Corre, during his reign as WWE Intercontinental champion. The latter part of 2011 saw the Barrett Barrage propel the English superstar to his greatest height thus far as a single competitor. (Continued)

Just in time for his main event match for the WWE Championship at Night of Champions, Wade Barrett is featured as WWE.com‘s Superstar of the Day for September 19, 2010.

CINCINNATI – With just six days until Night of Champions, several competitors in that night’s Six Pack Challenge pushed their luck with Raw’s Roulette Wheel. Some hit the jackpot in their matches, while others saw their fortunes dwindle at the tables.

John Cena and Randy Orton hadn’t faced one another in singles competition since December of 2009. That lapse in no way diminished the animosity that has always simmered just below the surface. During their Tables Match in the night’s main event, those callous feelings could no longer be contained.
As the battle progressed, various Superstars would power through more lumber than a Home Depot. In the end, Wade Barrett (and his Nexus cohorts), Edge and Jericho, and The Celtic Warrior would all invade the ring.
Barrett and The Nexus attempted to upend both Cena and Orton, but together the two would dispose of the five members, mostly by sending them through tables.

Wade Barrett recently spoke to WWE Magazine about his impact on NXT Season One, his NXT pro Chris Jericho, and how he feels about his fellow Nexus members. A few excerpts from the interview are here-
Wade on winning NXT Season One: “Being on the show made it more obvious that I was above average in ability, and it also made it very clear that I had all the potential to become the next breakout Superstar in WWE…”
Wade on the NXT format: “We definitely felt like guinea pigs. So many things were thrownn at us during the show itself, which subsequently led to us feeling a bit angry…”
Wade on the Nexus and how it compares to past factions: “From the very start, we felt that we needed to make a big impact just to establish ourselves, and that was by going after the top dogs in the company…”
Wade on NXT pros Chris Jericho and William Regal: “I think in some ways he (Regal) wished I was his protege. It would have been very interesting to work with him, but I drew the ace in the pack when I was paired with Chris Jericho…”
