MINNEAPOLIS – WWE Tag Team Championship Match: David Otunga & John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes & Drew McIntyre
At WWE Bragging Rights, on the strength of the STF heard ‘round the world, the unlikely combination of John Cena and David Otunga reigned supreme over Drew McIntyre & “Dashing” Cody Rhodes in an impromptu title match, delivering the glorious WWE Tag Team Championship into the hands of The Nexus.

The spur-of-the-moment contest was made by the anonymous Raw General Manager.

Wade Barrett – the outspoken leader of The Nexus – immediately came before the WWE Universe, naming Nexus member David Otunga for the monumental undertaking. But, it was his announcement that John Cena would team with Otunga that completely shocked the WWE Universe.

Despite being forced to join The Nexus after losing to Barrett at WWE Hell in a Cell – one of the hardest ordeals the illustrious Superstar has ever faced – Cena arrived completely fired up for his latest championship opportunity. And though he refused to work as a cohesive unit with his new tag team partner, it was the decorated Superstar, known for never backing down from any challenge, who locked Rhodes into his patented submission maneuver to thrust The Nexus into championship glory.

But, Cena’s tag team victory did not come without defiance. Following the match, The Champ brought the Cenation into an absolute frenzy, hitting Otunga with the Attitude Adjustment.

One of the most hated factions in WWE history has reached the golden realm, forever cementing its place in squared circle history. And as John Cena travels further and further down The Nexus wormhole, the WWE Universe will look to Monday Night Raw, waiting to see if their hero can ever find his way out again.

Buried Alive Match: The Undertaker vs. Kane
In the days leading up to WWE Bragging Rights, World Heavyweight Champion Kane’s father Paul Bearer vowed that The Undertaker would be “drowned in a hell of dirt and darkness” in the Buried Alive Match. Tonight, the morbid manager’s ominous words came true as “The Devil’s Favorite Demon” defeated his brother in a brutal, emotional contest by sadistically entombing The Deadman with help from The Nexus under tons of black soil in a six-foot deep abyss.

It is fitting that the rivalry between Kane and The Undertaker would come to an end at a grave. As two brothers who were raised in a funeral home, the morbid Superstars have spent their entire lives locked in a complicated, love-hate relationship that constantly tempted the fates. But the animosity between the two big Superstars was never as heated as it has been in the past few months. Since being brutally attacked by Kane in May, Undertaker has attempted to gain retribution against his brother, but The Big Red Monster managed to stop the weakened Phenom on each occasion. At Hell in a Cell, Undertaker was even betrayed by Paul Bearer and lost to Kane for the second time in a row.

WWE Bragging Rights was The Demon from Death Valley’s third and final chance to defeat his twisted brother and win the World Heavyweight Championship, and it looked as though he was well on his way to doing it. Brutalizing Kane with everything that wasn’t nailed down, Undertaker was close to burying the vicious Superstar alive, but the four feral members of The Nexus suddenly attacked The Deadman and began to brutalize him.

Exhausted and overwhelmed by the horde, the legendary Superstar was finally knocked into the dark, suffocating pit by no less than five adversaries. There was little The Deadman could do as he lay helpless and vulnerable at the bottom of the grave, but watch as Kane flashed a cruel smile as tons of dirt poured from a bulldozer into the burial ground.

With The Phenom interred deep below the ground, the Target Center went dark and a sharp bolt of lightning cut across the arena. It was a sure sign that The Deadman’s presence was still with the WWE Universe, but who knows when he will rise again.

WWE Championship Match: Wade Barrett vs. Randy Orton

Wade Barrett had taken out the ultimate insurance policy – or so he thought. During his WWE Title Match against champion Randy Orton, the leader of The Nexus ordered John Cena to remain in his corner. Although Barrett felt confident that he had covered his bases, his reluctant disciple managed to essentially outsmart him and deny the Englishman’s claim, allowing Orton to retain.

To further ensure a victory, the Englishman dropped a bombshell prior to the bout: If he were to lose the match, Cena would be fired from WWE. The ultimatum staggered Cena, who had captured the WWE Tag Team Titles with David Otunga earlier in the evening. Could Cena really further the ambitions of such a loathsome individual? And if he refused, could he possibly cope with being terminated from the company he loves, forbidden from competing in a WWE ring?

An opportunity would eventually reveal itself in the glimmer of a snake’s eye. Midway through the match, the referee was knocked unconscious. Taking advantage, the remaining three members of Nexus rushed the ring to attack Orton. They were quickly chased off by Cena, who explained that he was trying to save Barrett from being disqualified. As the contest progressed and fatigue washed over Barrett, Orton prepared to unleash an RKO. Just as he coiled himself, however, Cena recognized his opening.

Cena, who had been forced to join Nexus after losing at Hell in a Cell, pushed Orton aside and hoisted Barrett atop his shoulders. For a moment, it appeared as if Cena had suffered enough abuse and was going to avenge himself with an Attitude Adjustment. When the Englishman came crashing to the canvas, however, Cena’s brilliant method suddenly revealed itself.

He had ensured Barrett’s victory by disqualification – and saved his career in the process. Although the Englishman had officially prevailed, a title cannot change hands due to a disqualification. Perhaps The Viper should have been relieved, but there’s no reasoning with a furious snake. Instead, Orton leveled both Barrett and his unwilling lackey with a poetic pair of RKOs.

The outcome ensures that Orton remains WWE Champion, that Cena will not be terminated from WWE and that Barrett will be more determined than ever to make his reluctant disciple’s life a living hell.
