AUSTIN, TX – John Cena comes to the ring to celebrate a “Nexus-Free” Raw after his win over Wade Barrett last night at the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs pay-per-view. Video clips are shown of last night’s final moments of the Chairs match. Cena is interrupted by Vickie Guererro and Dolph Ziggler, and a series of jokes on Vickie turn into threats. The Raw GM then makes a match between Cena and Ziggler.

After the match, CM Punk comes into the ring and he hits John Cena with a chair and leaves the ring.

Cena is not in a good mood any more as he looks at the stage and wonders what just happened.

We go to commercial.

We are back and we have a Moments Ago Moment of the final moments of the match between John Cena and Dolph Ziggler.

Josh Mathews tries to get a word from CM Punk outside the arena. Punk says that Cena only understands aggression. Punk gave Cena a taste of his own medicine after what happened to Wade Barrett the night before in the Chairs match. Punk drives away.

(EDITING NOTE: As there were no appearances by Wade Barrett and the Nexus this week on Raw, digitals and screencaps are on a holiday hiatus until next week’s show!)

HOUSTON, TX —Mere hours before he would step in the ring to face John Cena in a Chairs Match, Wade Barrett made his cruel intentions clear at the expense of Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov. Brutalizing the WWE Tag Team Champions with a steel chair following their disqualification victory over Nexus members Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel, the vicious Englishman sent a direct message to John Cena — their battle later in the night would be a war.

Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater vs. WWE Tag Team Champions Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov

The underhanded act was yet another example of the brutal lengths The Nexus is willing to go to in order to make an impact. After losing their WWE Tag Team Titles to Marella & Kozlov on the Dec. 6 edition of Raw, Slater & Gabriel should have been focused on getting their slimy hands back on the championships. But tonight wasn’t about title glory, it was about putting fear into John Cena.

With Nexus brutes Husky Harris & Michael McGillicutty causing a disqualification after blatantly attacking Kozlov, the four members of the yellow and black horde immediately swarmed on the WWE Tag Team Champions and began to tear them apart. And then Wade Barrett entered.

Stalking to the ring with a steel chair in his clenched fist, Barrett looked like a man intent on raising hell and did just that, battering the hapless tag team with vicious whacks from the chair. Standing above the fallen bodies, the Englishman exuded an air of supreme confidence that seemed to form a much-needed solidarity in The Nexus.

After weeks of uncertainty and infighting, the band of rebels looks to be more focused than ever and they are coming for John Cena.

Chairs Match – Wade Barrett vs. John Cena

Six months ago, The Nexus made their infamous debut by brutalizing John Cena in a reprehensible attack that shocked the WWE Universe. Tonight, the newly rehired Superstar struck back in a major way, destroying Nexus leader Wade Barrett in a vicious Chairs Match before burying the malicious Englishman under a pile of steel to bring a definitive end to the most heated rivalry of the year.

In a match where the usage of steel chairs was completely legal, the underhanded Barrett had a distinct advantage. After all, when it comes to cruelty, few Superstars are as sadistic as the Nexus leader. The Englishman displayed this mean streak throughout much of the bout, battering Cena with an endless amount of punishing chair shots. But the powerhouse would not be denied and he fought back against Barrett, finally destroying his rival with a devastating Attitude Adjustment onto six steel chairs. (Read more)
