TULSA, Okla. – Just nine days before the biggest Royal Rumble Match in history, Wade Barrett introduced the WWE Universe to The Corre.

Wade Barrett revealed the formation of The Corre

One week after Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, Ezekiel Jackson and Heath Slater unleashed a crippling onslaught upon Big Show, they came before the WWE Universe to declare themselves The Corre. All four members will be a part of the first-ever 40 Superstar Royal Rumble Match in nine days.

Barrett stated that all four members of The Corre will be equals. When GM Teddy Long emerged to make it clear he would not tolerate the type of disruptions that The Nexus had caused on Raw, the members of The Corre insisted that he had misjudged them. They pledged to take SmackDown places it has never gone before.

Justin Gabriel def. World Heavyweight Champion Edge in a Non-title Match

Before the main event between Edge and The Corre’s Justin Gabriel could begin, Vickie Guerrero emerged to inform the WWE Universe that her boyfriend Dolph Ziggler – No. 1 contender to the World Heavyweight Title – would be joining the announce team.

Thanks to interference by his fellow Corre members, Gabriel picked up a huge victory over The Rated-R Superstar. After the match, Edge was treated to the full wrath of the intimidating new faction – an attack that included the “sternum crushing” 450 Splash by Gabriel and Wasteland by Wade Barrett. As SmackDown came to a close, Ziggler took the opportunity to stand over Edge in a symbolic act of triumph.

Last Friday we saw the reunion of former Nexus members Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater with SmackDown’s newest superstar Wade Barrett as they joined in on a post-match beating of The Big Show. Surprisingly, fellow SmackDown superstar Ezekiel Jackson then made his way to the ring with the purpose of joining the alliance as well as joining the vicious attack on Show. The end result saw Wade Barrett standing with his associates, arms raised in victory over the fallen Big Show. SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long has resolved to assess this situation with this new dominant group, but what will happen next in Barrett’s most recent acquisition of power?
