Short Biography: Stuart Alexander "Stu" Bennett is an English professional wrestler, signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (under the SmackDown brand) as Wade Barrett. After honing his skills in Florida Championship Wrestling, Wade Barrett went on to win Season One of WWE NXT in May 2010. Barrett rose to power, notoriety, and dominance as the founding leader of the Nexus for the latter half of 2010 and from early to mid-2011 formed (and later disbanded) another alliance, the Corre, during his reign as WWE Intercontinental champion. The latter part of 2011 saw the Barrett Barrage propel the English superstar to his greatest height thus far as a single competitor. (Continued)

NASHVILLE, Tennessee – After assessing the damage done on Ezekiel Jackson on last week’s episode, Wade Barrett, Heath Slater, and Justin Gabriel, united as The Corre, gathered in the ring as Barrett warned Kane (without his partner the Big Show this week) that things could get bad for him much as they did the week before for Jackson.
Kane def. Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett by Disqualification
Just when it looked as if Kane had overcome distractions by The Corre and was set to chokeslam Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater attacked. After giving The Big Red Monster the win by disqualification, his adversaries used their overwhelming numbers to take him down.Moments later – one week after getting forcefully “excommunicated” from The Corre – Ezekiel Jackson exploded to the ring, delivering a major onslaught on his former allies before once again succumbing to their 3-on-1 assault. The punishment he endured culminated with Gabriel’s 450 Splash.

After The Corre’s massive assault on Ezekiel Jackson for the second week in a row, Wade Barrett poked his stick at the self-professed “The Personification of Domination” with an Intercontinental Title challenge.

Orlando, FL – After a considerable amount of tension between Wade Barrett and Ezekiel Jackson following Extreme Rules, a schism was finally made apparent between the two as the Intercontinental Champion confronted the dominating superstar after Jackson defeated the Big Show.
Ezekiel Jackson def. WWE Tag Team Champion Big Show
In a battle between two titans, Ezekiel Jackson squared off against WWE Tag Team Champion Big Show. When fellow WWE Tag Team Champion Kane came to ringside, he was pounced on by The Corre. After fending off Kane’s attackers, The World’s Largest Athlete was met with a brutal bodyslam followed up shortly with a clothesline from Jackson. After the massive victory, Jackson was viciously assaulted by his brethren when he took a swing at Wade Barrett in the locker room.

It’s an insight the members of The Corre should take to heart. Plagued by infighting and a lack of direction in recent weeks, the band of renegades continued to fall apart at Extreme Rules as Wade Barrett & Ezekiel Jackson failed to beat Big Show & Kane in a WWE Tag Team Championship Lumberjack Match.

It was yet another disappointment for the squad of Barrett, Jackson, Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel. At WrestleMania XXVII, The Corre lost a huge Eight-Man Tag Team Match to Show, Kane, Kofi Kingston & Santino Marella. Weeks later, Slater & Gabriel dropped their tag titles to The World’s Largest Athlete & The Big Red Monster. This string of failures has had the team members at odds, constantly bickering instead of working as a unit.
Tonight, Barrett & Jackson had the opportunity to put their group back on the right track. If they could take down two of the largest Superstars in WWE history, they’d prove that The Corre truly were the future of sports-entertainment. But even with Gabriel & Slater watching their backs, the duo couldn’t stay on the same page.
Battling in a ring surrounded by WWE Superstars and NXT Rookies, Jackson looked impressive as he displayed his amazing strength by bodyslamming the 485-pound Big Show. But Barrett couldn’t resist the opportunity to batter his rival and tagged himself in. It was a serious error in judgment. After a failed attempt to deliver the Wasteland to The World’s Largest Athlete, the British Superstar was nailed with a chokeslam and pinned.
This loss is yet another embarrassing setback for The Corre. Will it be a wakeup call for the group to finally get things together? Or is the set headed for a brutal breakup? Check out SmackDown on Friday night to find out.
