Unnatural Alliance?

The ROAD TO WRESTLEMANIA has begun this past week-end with two special shows for SMACKDOWN, and already, strange things has started to appear. This Saturday February 4, at Spokane, Washington, the public present for the live show witnessed something that has since been added to the growing list of signs heralding the coming of the Apocalypse.

First of all, Wade Barrett faced Sheamus in a match chosen by the fans: a Street Fight. The whole match was qualified as REALLY GOOD, which served as a lesson for the many haters who firmly believed that Randy Orton had destroyed the Barrett Barrage this Friday night on SmackDown. Remember what Wade uses to say: What doesn’t kill him, will only make him stronger.

But what has rather been seen as an additional sign of the approaching end of days was the following: during the WHC title match opposing Big Show to Daniel Bryan, Wade brought Jinder Mahal with him in order to help… the actual World Heavyweight champion. No, you’re not dreaming. WADE BARRETT helped DANIEL BRYAN!!! One of the persons he used to despise the most since NXT. Remember that not so long ago, those two were not exactly friendly towards each other.

Now I can already hear worried voices asking questions such as: Did Randy Orton hit Wade’s head too hard on the steel chair when he RKOed him the day before on SmackDown? Did Wade lost a bet? These days, people don’t look that eager to be seen by Daniel Bryan’s side, so … Would it be just a huge marketing campaign created by the WWE in the sole purpose of preparing us for a new Wade Barrett tee-shirt?

Well, you perfectly know that Wade is the first person to admit when he makes a mistake, and he never hesitates to publicly apologize to everyone, because he strongly cares about what people think about him. He’s not a professional backstabber, his alliances are strong and last a lifetime. His teammates know they can totally trust him because he’s never going to betray them for something as superficial as a championship belt.

But most of everything: don’t worry about the consequences such an alliance with Daniel Bryan could have for Wade. Remember that he has the brain of a chess player trapped inside the body of a wrestler. He won’t make any move unless he planned 4 or 5 steps in advance. And the moment his opponent will realize that Wade has been playing with two queens all along, it will already be too late.
